Callum Harriott, the former Gillingham winger, has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 32. The ex-Charlton Athletic and Reading player, who made four appearances for the Gills in 2022, ended his 16-year career after stints in the EFL and National League. Gillingham finished 17th in League Two last season with 53 points, securing a 1-0 win over Shrewsbury in their final game on 2 May 2026.
Who is Callum Harriott?
Harriott began his career at Charlton Athletic, making 95 appearances and scoring 12 goals. After joining Reading in 2016, he struggled for form before rebuilding his career at Colchester United, where he scored 19 goals in 87 games. His brief spell at Gillingham came in November 2022, but he later dropped into non-league football with Yeovil Town, York City, and Ebbsfleet United.
