Gillingham legend Andy Hessenthaler is launching an appeal for a new museum to celebrate Gillingham's football history. The initiative aims to create a space at Priestfield Stadium, where the old club shop was located, to showcase memorabilia and the club's achievements. Hessenthaler, who played a pivotal role in the club's journey to Wembley in 1999 and their promotion the following year, expressed his excitement about the project. He stated that many fans would want to be involved in this venture, which is a significant part of the club's legacy. The museum will feature a small cinema and aims to become one of the largest and best outside of the Premier League. David Garth from the Gillingham FC Supporters' Club emphasized the importance of community involvement in this project, allowing fans to reminisce about the club's glorious past. The supporters' club has been collecting memorabilia since last year, including signed shirts and match programmes. They have received offers of unique items, such as a medal from the club's first-ever goal. Gills fan Stefan Bennett is currently storing various memorabilia, including player-worn shirts and programmes dating back to the 1960s, showcasing the rich history of Gillingham FC.
