Gillingham's win at Barrow came at a cost after picking up at least two injuries. Cameron Antwi was making his first start for the Gills but limped off after just half an hour following a heavy tackle.
What happened?
The injury to Antwi, 24, occurred after a big tackle, which Gills boss Gareth Ainsworth described as a positive sign. Antwi signed for the Gills in the January transfer window but had to be patient for his opportunity, with four substitute appearances before getting his chance in the starting XI on Saturday.
Why it matters for Gillingham
Captain Armani Little lasted less than an hour as he went off with a muscle strain. Ainsworth said: “Armani just felt a muscle and we've got to have a look at that.” The Gills are currently 17th in England League Two, with 53 points from 46 games, and recent form of WLLLD. Their last result was a 1-0 win against Shrewsbury on 2026-05-02.
What comes next?
Ainsworth also commented on the injury to Barrow's Jovan Malcolm, who was stretchered off following a challenge from Ethan Coleman. | Stat | Value | | --- | --- | | League standing | 17th in England League Two | | Points | 53 | | Recent form | WLLLD | | Last result | Gillingham 1-0 Shrewsbury | Gillingham will be hoping to bounce back from these injuries and continue their push in the league.
