Gillingham have secured the future of young forward Sullivan Booth on his first professional contract. The 17-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the League Two club.
Booth signed the contract at MEMS Priestfield Stadium recently. He made his senior debut last season, entering as a substitute in a match against Barnet. On his debut, he scored a goal and also set up a goal for Josh Andrews. He also appeared as a substitute in Gillingham's Carabao Cup first-round match against Luton and took part in pre-season activities.
The young player can still play for the youth team but has now made an important move in his professional career. "I am buzzing to get it over the line," Booth told the club's official site. "It has always been a dream since I can remember and now it has finally happened."
His new contract comes as Gillingham are gaining momentum early in the season. The team is in 11th place in League Two with nine points from six matches, after a win over Tranmere.
Booth's new agreement strengthens the team's attacking resources as they aim to reduce the distance to the top of the table. The club hopes his progress will provide more options for future tasks.
